Vinyl Record Hammer Case
'PATISH' is a vacuum forming base hammer case.
The case includes pockets dedicated to nails and screws and it can be transported using a carying handle. In this project whose purpose was getting to know the method used when working with vacuum forming we created a new method in processing vinyl records and recycling them.
We created one bi-directional mold, made up of several layers of wood and metal rivet which hold it together. In doing that, it’s possible to reverse the order of layers in the mold and create a symmetrical bi-directional mold that enables the making of two mirror shells. The mold consists of the negative space of a hammer and two pockets. After many trials in the workshop, this unique method we found to reach the ultimate result with vacuum forming of the vinyl records is inserting the records into a vacuum machine with a PVC sheet and separation material between the record and the mold.
Materials: Vinyl records, PVC and Aluminum.
